Luuk Bode
Rotterdam-based artist Luuk Bode creates work that is bold, graphic and full of movement. His distinctive visual language brings together powerful colour, geometric forms and the energy of the urban landscape. Trained as an illustrator at the Willem de Kooning Academy, his work has evolved from figurative imagery influenced by comics, pop culture and street art towards an increasingly abstract and monumental visual language.
Today, his practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture and large-scale murals, moving between intimate works and monumental public pieces. For Bode, inspiration is everywhere: in the angles of a skyline, road markings, reflections in glass and water, fragments of graffiti and unexpected shapes found in the street. The city is not simply his surroundings. It is part of his visual language.

FROM WALL TO BOTTLE
A different kind of canvas. Bode’s work grows through experimentation. Sketches are cut, combined, scanned, shifted and reworked. Fragments of earlier ideas can return in new compositions, while familiar forms take on a completely different character through new combinations.
The process is not about repeating what already works. It is about discovering what comes next. For Edition HOPE, Bode’s visual language finds an entirely new canvas: single malt whisky. He created the visual identity for both the bottle and presentation box, translating colour, geometry and movement into a much smaller and more intimate object.
This time, the canvas was a bottle. And a box.
Only 50 individually numbered bottles were created.

Whisky for Charity
ART. WHISKY. PURPOSE.
For Edition HOPE, the artwork is not simply decoration. It becomes part of the way the complete edition is experienced. Bottle, box, artwork and whisky come together as one limited object.
Edition HOPE brings together three different forms of creation: A distillery brings its craft. An artist gives the edition its identity. A charitable cause gives it purpose.
For the inaugural edition, Annandale Distillery, Rotterdam artist Luuk Bode and the Refugee Foundation come together in a strictly limited edition of just 50 individually numbered bottles. The full purchase price of every bottle is donated to the Refugee Foundation.
